It was dark and stormy night....

"...everyone likes lightning ...pictures that is," says Phil Heinzl, who grabbed this one of last night's storm (Thank you, Phil!). According to our (and other) weather widgets, it will probably be dark and stormy tonight as well. But here's a curious thing: the weather widget on CampoPulse, the same source as ours here, says that Christmas Day in Algeciras will be cold but sunny. (Note: Can anybody tell us where we got our headline from? It's not original...)

its from an 1830 novel called Paul Clifford by Edward Bulwer-Lytton,which I´m sure you know from looking at Wikipedia.........I prefer a similar one...twas the night before xmas and all through the house...........Happy Xmas everyone from Sue and Laura xxxx

It is the opening phrase of the novel Paul Clifford by Edward Bulwer-Lytton and of several other books.

My Dad used to amuse us with this one when we were kids:

It was a dark and stormy might
and the rain came down in torrents,
and the Captain said to the mate
"Tell us a tale"
and the tale ran on as follows;
