Where's DominGo?

Our many readers are asking themselves what happened to  the fifth edition of our colour supplement. The image is the tentative cover, which proves we're working on it. Also tentative is that DominGo may well be published in a bilingual English-Spanish version, though that depends on The Translation People. Fortunately, we haven't committed to firm dates for its publication, which means we have more time between running around like headless chickens as we have of late. It's feria time. What will you wear? What's he supposed wear? El Rocío is on as you read this, tens of thousands heading for Doñana, but why? What's there to see in Europe's largest National Park, anyway?  All the answers are in the fourth issue of DominGo - and you don't even have to find it at a news stand! In the interest of speed, we're changing the way we`re putting DominGo up here. Campo faithful head for El Rocío

The local media is full of reports on the brotherhoods heading for the annual El Rocío pilgrimage. Some 350 people left from La Línea alone, another 400 or so from Algeciras, and we know of at least two from Jimena who are joining up with others on the way to cross Doñana National Park towards Almonte and La Blanca Paloma. DominGo's here at last!

Our colour supplement is late. Our apologies. The monkeys went on strike when management regretted having to lower their wages to Greek standards. However, a large bag of unsalted peanuts brought them back to work and so the magazine was finished. Given that the page-turning facility slows down your computers when downloading, we have opted for a change: CLICK HERE and go directly to the magazine online, which is faster. We shall be doing that from now on until we find somewhere faster to publish. As an alternative, you can click on the cover on the sidebar if you missed it first time around. Enjoy!

DominGo third issue delayed

Blame the Iceland volcano ashes, or the rain, or whatever, but we had scheduled the third issue of our colour supplement for today. However, reality got in the way: Prospero had a (real) job interview that needed a lot of preparation, he had to earn a crust, too, plus the frightening fact that a very good friend had a heart attack. These are some of the reasons why our next issue is delayed. But the cover might give you a good idea about what exciting, interesting, fascinating, awesome things are in preparation. If you can't read the small print (always read the small print!): Who Is Eduardo Noriega?, How Well Do You Know Your Neighbours?, Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Orson Welles Slept Here, Too, What's a Casino? DominGo: this time with 32 pages!

Welcome!

As it says there on page 3: Welcome to the first issue of DominGo, the Sunday magazine in English that is part of a new online venture called OneLinePULSE Publications, now publishers of JimenaPulse, CampoPulse and our partner sites.

A bit of history. In March 2007 there began a very local blog called JimenaPulse, focused on Jimena de la Frontera. It grew and grew, to the point where we had to expand.

CampoPulse was born on October 1st, 2009, running parallel to its sister but covering the whole of the Campo de Gibraltar. We tried to give them a newsy look although they call themselves magazines.

So we had no choice but to come up with a proper magazine, on nice glossy paper, lots of pics and wider coverage. Not too big and heavy, so it had to be a colour supplement. And a colour supplement that appears with the news is traditionally published on DOMINGO, right?

This is what we came up with. Only 26 pages so far, but more to come. Enjoy!
