Eucalyptus trees endangered electric cables near El Paseo

(Press release/Photo: Jimena Council) Local bomberos, Public Works personnel and these from ARCGISA this morning cut back branches from several eucalyptus trees near El Paseo, the village's main sqaure. The work was carried out because of rapid growth of this species' brittle branches, which not only endangered passers-by but also threatened electricity cables that supply the potable water pumping station for Jimena's Historic Quarter, according to Fernando Gómez, Councillor for Public Works.
