Unions denounce police charges against them in La Línea

(Photo & source: EuropaSur) Some ten union representatives went to the Juzgado de Instrucción in La Línea this morning to present a denuncia against the National Police carried out yesterday when municipal workers were demonstrating against their not having been paid their salaries. One union delegate said that the Police charge against them was 'brutal' and that it occurred about 900 metres from the frontier with Gibraltar. They are also asking for the resignation of the Government Sub-Delegate for the Province of Cádiz, José Saucedo and the Genetral Coordinator for the Central Government in the Campo de Gibraltar, José Andrés Hoyo. The unions have declared that, while a general strike has been called off, daily protests will continue at least until December 5th, "to see if we get paid by then."
