(Agencies) The animal shelter in La Línea, Prodean, is receiving too many kittens into their already overwhelmed facilities. Volunteers have said that "it is taking too long for people to realize that adopting an animal is for life, not until it is no longer convenient." There are too many homes with female cats that, through "negligence or irresponsibility" have not been sterilized.Volunteers say that they deplore these people's attitude, adding that they are "fighting a battle on several fronts: feral cats, abandoned cats, diseased cats ... There are those who simply abandon their pets, with kittens, sometimes putting them into the rubbish or out into the street, without further thought." Sterilization, they say, is the only way to stop an ever increasing problem.
