Jimena is featured on Danish television

JIMENA The link below will take you to a Danish TV station that yesterday featured Jimena in one of its programmes. We got this information from a very busy Danish friend in Jimena, whom we have yet to convince to translate it into English or even Spanish. At the very beginning, you will see Tobi el Castañero, whom we featured just a couple of days ago. There are also interviews with local people (including a shot of our very own Melissa, of Henrietta's - right at the end), in what we think is an item on how the crisis is affecting the average Spaniard (but we could be wrong). Municipal finances make TV redundant

CASTELLAR (Agencies) The municipal television is stopping daily transmissions because of cutbacks. Castellar Mayor Juan Casanova made the announcement after taking stock of his first 100 days in office. The channel will only emit one news programme per week, principally on Council sessions and institutional announcements. The six people on staff will be placed in other departments, all of which are being reorganized. The web page and press department will be maintained. The annual cost of the TV channel amounted to €120,000, which the Mayor thought excessive for Castellar. Jimena, just up the road from Castellar, stopped TV broadcasting last year, has no press office and its website has not been updated since May 27.

German TV series filming at the castle

(From Council website) Jimena castle is being used to shoot scenes for a televison series by Action Concept, a German production company specializing in action series, some of which have appeared on Spanish TV. The series containing the chapter being filmed at the castle is based on fantasy and parapsychology. Filming will continue until next Thursday, after which the team will head for Sancti Petri to continue shooting. (Photo from the series Cobra Alert, via TioJimeno.)
Jimena and its surroundings have often been used for this purpose, ranging from entire TV series and films, to commercials and documentaies. (Prospero note: Shouldn't the Council think of setting up a Jimena Film Commission or something? It would bring work and tourism.)
