We often run a speed check on our Internet connection, usually through www.bandwithplace.com and especially when it seems to be slow, like today. There's not a lot one can do about it (except perhaps relax and wait for the US to go to bed...) but it's as well to know what the difference is between 'download speed' and 'upload speed'. The simple answer is: Upload is when you put some of your stuff like music files or picture files from your PC to the internet, while dowload is when you take files from the internet and download into your PC. There is a more thorough answer here.

No comments, no feedback - what's happening?
We seem to be getting very few comments on JimenaPulse and we have to ask why. With close to 550 daily readers of this site, it seems strange. If you are having trouble with the comments facility, please let us know how we can help. There are clear instructions on the sidebar if you click on the image under 'How to post a comment'. (Prospero memo to monkeys: Have any of you thought that there may be nothing to comment about??)

What are labels?
In our ongoing effort to make JimenaPulse easier to navigate, we occasionally offer a little help to our friends. Today's How-to is about that seemingly interminable light blue listing on the sidebar, labelled 'Labels'. If, like several of our regular readers, you are a little scared of clicking on something in case you get sent off into the ether, fear not. If you click on any of the items in the Labels list, you will go to all the articles that have been labelled; this one, for instance, is labelled How-to and JimenaPulse. The larger the letters, the more articles thus labelled you will find. And to get back to this page, all you have to do is click on the heading JimenaPulse above. This is only one of several ways to find previously posted articles. Easy, try it!
