Yesterday, TioJimeno published the fact that the Council owes the national tax man €724,661. This morning Prospero ran into Mayor, who said, "Look what I've just been given." Guillermo Ruiz showed him a piece of paper with the approximate figure of €1,196,000 on it. "That's what we owe Social Security." To say that the Mayor looked worried would be an undersatetment. How much more can we expect? We'll tell you after we ask him tomorrow, when we have an interview. In the meantime, Ruiz has announced that he will be requesting a full audit of the Town Hall books - but that can't happen yet because the Interventor (i.e. the man who keeps the books) is on holiday! (Who allowed that, we wonder?)
