Collado backs projects included in the POT

JIMENA (Agencies) Jimena Mayor Pascual Collado recently announced that he was pleased by the favourable report issued by the Valuation Commission last week on the Plan de Ordenación del Territorio (POT, Territorial Planning master document) for the Campo de Gibraltar, which must now be approved by the commissions for the province and Andalucía. Collado said that "it is a very important tool for the development of Jimena and the Campo de Gibraltar. We are delighted that an administrative step forward has been taken, which will serve as a platform on which to see a positive future.">
He went on to mention several projects that the approval of the POT will allow to be executed. Among these are improvements to the A-2101(photo) and A-405 roads, as they run through San Martín del Tesorillo and Los Ángeles respectively. "We are also supported in the idea that Jimena village and Los Ángeles (Estación) can be joined together," added the mayor. The stretch between the two is subject to a project for 700 homes with a "high percentage" of protected housing. The POT also covers the development of an area, named 'of regional tourism interest' between Tesorillo and Jimena that has plans for a golf course.
