As agreed at the Plenary Session of Jimena Council of July 16, 2009, next Monday, September 6, is a local holiday. According to a Council press relase dated today, this is the first time a holiday is held as a 'hangover Monday' for the Novena festivities celebrating Our Lady of the Angels, patron saint of the municipality. The holiday was usually reserved for post-Feria de Agosto. It means only that shops and offices, including banks, will be closed that day, throughout the municipality (i.e. including San Pablo and Tesorillo). We will find out if any of the larfer establishments plan to remain open, as for them the holiday is optional.
