(Press release) As we reported earlier, work on the bottom part of the main access to the village, is to begin on Monday, which will bring to an end the renovation of Avenida de los Deportes that has been going on for a number of months. Work will consist of continuing the planters and other urban furniture and street lighting down to the A-405, as well as lighting for the restored bridge (to the left, out of picture) over the Arroyo García Bravo that was the original access to Jimena. This last will become a park that is at present being worked on by an employment scheme.>
Thus, Jimena has been renovated all the way from the main square to the A-405, financed over its various phases by a multiplicity of grants and subsidies obtained by the Council for the purpose. Other work carried out include several fountains, new street lights, new urban furniture and quite a lot more.
