We knew it was going to happen and it's taken longer than we thought. The old mill almost opposite the supermarket on Avenida de los Deportes has gone, pulled down to make way for a block of flats (see photo below). Such a pity! The mill was old, decrepit and neglected (see photo below), admittedly - and not within the boundaries of Jimena's Historic Quarter (and thus protected, which it should have been anyway), but only a few metres away. But its proportions were pleasing and it had a history (about which we will be writing). Progress, it's called.

We agree! Since we have lived here we have always said what a lovely building, hope someone is going to restore it. Then we come back from a weekend away and it's GONE! What a shame.
