Several readers have asked us if Monday is a holiday. The answer: yes and no. It IS a school holiday for all Jimena schools, primary and secondary, but it is NOT a Bank Holiday for banks, offices, etc. May 1st, Saturday is a Bank Holiday that will mostly affect shops (e.g. Carrefour is closed all day, Ruiz Galán is open on Saturday morning only).
