(Press release) Work is under way on Misericordia and Alta (photo) to repair stone walls damaged by winter storms. Carried out by the Memta employment scheme under the direction of the Department of Works headed by Councillor Fernando Gómez, it consists of reinforcing stonework ahead of any further damage. Barrier anchors, much in demand from local residents, are also being installed as the area is close to the castle with a consequent influx of tourists.
