New Local Police station building gets under way

Construction for Jimena's new Local Police station got officially under way yesterday. Located between the old silo and the mushroom market, on the A-405 half way between Los Ángeles and Jimena village, it will house the station, garages and, eventually, municipal offices as necessary as well as allowing quicker access from the stationto other parts of the municipality in cases of emergency. With a budget of €380,000 financed by the  Junta's Plan Proteja, the building is scheduled to be finished in 13 months' time, according to Councillor Fernando Gómez.
