(Agencies) Judge Steven D. Merryday, of Tampa, Florida, yesterday ordered Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. to return treasure it extracted from the sunken Spanish frigate Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes. Judge Merryday rejected the latest appeals presented by the US company regarding gold and silver coins and other objects in an ongoing legal battle resulting from Odyssey's claim to the treasure from the Spanish vessel sunk in 1804. The treasure reached the US in a somewhat obscure manouevre via Gibraltar. (Read more about it here.)
