VAT in Spain (IVA) goes up by 2% (from 16 to 18%) at midnight tonight. Consumer organizations are warning to watch out for increases above that. In the meantime, the gas bombona also goes up by 6.6% from €11.68 to €12.45 - added, of course, to the higher VAT. Natural gas goes up at midnight. This is the third time gas goes up this year. However, the Ministry for Industry recently decided not to allow electricity rises that had been announced for tonight as well.
