At this time of year Jimena traditionally sports a Star of Bethlehem atop its Moorish castle, and getting it up there is a team effort (See more pics here.). Another kind of effort, according to a Council press release, is that some €12,000 has been saved from Christmas lighting this year, which will be going to the municipality's social services emergency fund. The Festivities Department has decided to buy, as opposed to renting, our seasonal street decorations, which will be going up as from Wednesday throughout the municipality. Congratulations!
