Working on the heights
Work began last week on the rooftops of El Antiguo Juzgado, an historical building off the main square in Jimena that over the centuries has housed the Town Hall, the Guardia Civil and a prison, as well as the Court House. Owned and extensively renovated by Monica and Peter Becko, who lived there for many years and used it as a musical centre, it is now a photographic studio run by Sue Callister and Alberto Saro, of the Andalucía School of Photography. Ancient tiles at the very top needed urgent replacing, so nearby residents will be relieved that things are moving ahead.
