Easter processions and parking restrictions in Jimena

Daily ten minute chaos - and danger
This is what we see every school day. Cars parked on the pavement, mothers and children unable to get safely to school. We repeat, the police are just a few metres away but ignore it. Is there some reason why these parents, some of whom we know well (do you recognise your cars?), can't park about thirty metres away? Is that too far to walk? One day a nasty accident will happen - we just hope we're not there to see it?

A bit imperialistic, this kind of parking...
| (Photo: JimenaPulse) |
Today is market day in Jimena, which is why this large van was moved yesterday evening from the place where the market is held, to here. Here is not more than thirty meters from another flat piece of land. But no, the van had to take up three parking spaces at the busiest place in the village, on its busiest day. Imperialistic, we call it! As well as extremely inconsiderate and selfish.
