(By Anna Breeker) Like many avid gardeners I occasionally have rubbish to burn. I have always understood that one could burn it after the 15th of September, or until after the first rain. Not so! After 15 phone calls to Guardia Civil, Seprona etc. to get the right information, I am now told that we have to wait until the 15th of October and that I need a permiso from the Oficina Forestal which is in Castellar de la Frontera, opposite the town hall. The permiso is cheap, it is for the whole season until sometime in May (will let you know), and we can burn on certain days only!Seprona's fines are very high so I just wanted to warn your readers. With the risk of fire here - and I experienced one a few years ago - we should all be properly informed.
